DRAFT reflection: for Gunnison to edit before publishing

Loneliness doesn't always look like being alone. It can be a full calendar with no one who really knows you, a marriage that's gone quiet, or a new town where nobody remembers your birthday.

Psalm 25:16 is a prayer you can borrow: "Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate." Honest prayers like that are in the Bible on purpose. God isn't put off by your loneliness. He meets you in it.

Psalm 139 asks, "Where could I go from your Spirit?" and answers, nowhere. Zephaniah 3:17 goes further: God will "rejoice over you with singing." You are known, and you are wanted.

And Psalm 68:6 says God "sets the lonely in families." Often he does that through people. So this week, take one small step: text a friend, try the small group, sit near someone new. Let him set you somewhere.
