Caring for a parent turns the world upside down. The person who once took care of you now needs help with things they'd rather not need help with. It's an honor, and it's exhausting, and both are true at once.

Isaiah 46:4 is God's promise to your parent: "Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you." It's a promise to you, too. You are not the only one carrying them.

Galatians 6:2 tells us to "bear one another's burdens," and that includes letting others bear yours. Accept the meal. Ask a sibling for one specific thing. Take the respite hour without apologizing.

When you're worn thin, remember 2 Corinthians 4:16: "our inward person is renewed day by day." Not all at once. Day by day. That's enough for today.
