Waiting may be the hardest part. Once you know, you can make a plan. Before you know, your mind writes every possible ending, usually the worst ones first.
The Bible talks about waiting a lot, and it's almost never passive. "Wait for the LORD. Be strong, and let your heart take courage." Waiting with God is an active trust: choosing, sometimes hour by hour, to put the outcome back in his hands.
Psalm 112:7 describes someone who "will not be afraid of evil news" because their heart is steadfast. That isn't pretending the news can't be bad. It's knowing that whatever the result says, it won't change who God is or how firmly he holds you.
Today, give tomorrow's phone call to him. Do the next small thing in front of you. Let someone you trust know you're waiting, so you don't wait alone.
